    Left over BRITU rub?

I'd throw it away. Not because it's gone spoiled, just because I don't like the BRITU rub, it's way too salty for me. I honestly don't know why people rave about it so much, but to each their own.

Kettle on last leg, but hey, what's that in the weeds?

My trusty 22 1/2" Kettle is starting to fall apart, the one-touch lever is loosing one of the wings and the inside is finally weakening. I'm on my 3rd grill and 2nd coal grate, bought it when me and my wife first got married...*weep* Well, I recently am renting a small yard in Morgan Hill and...

    Ono, hawaiian for good (Charcoal)

Joe, I got it at BBQ Galore. There should be one up in your neck of the woods, give them a ring and see if they carry it. My wife liked the smoke flavor from it quite a bit, which is surprising...I found it similar to the oak I've been using mostly, a nice mild charcoal, good flavor, seems...

    Ono, hawaiian for good (Charcoal)

John, $16 is a great deal on that stuff, even considering there was dust and/or small pieces. They only charged you $10 for the last ones, which was absurd actually, it was 40 or 50 lbs. I might need to make a run up there, but there's a chance I will be back in West Virginia for 2 months, and...

    Ono, hawaiian for good (Charcoal)

I have searched a few times over the past month or two, thinking you guys here were the masters of 'que fuel, but haven't seen mention of ono. Nothing on naked whiz either...remember, don't leave your Weber in the rain, you'll get rusty!*wink* Knock that rust off and get with the plan...it's...

    Hand forged steak turner...

A smithy friend of mine forged this up and sent to me as a gift, a hand forged steak turner... Got rained out on Sunday evening when I was gonna try it out, but the weather folks were on our side in Cali today, so I tested it out on a tri-tip. I know my style of cooking tri-tip goes against...

    Akemashite Omedetou Gozaimasu!

It's that time of year that the yaki-tori meets the sake, and good cheer flies freely. We have an annual Sho-Gatsu party at our house, and I always do yaki-tori, it's tradition every year rain or shine. Good chance for me to get rid of the bag of Cowboy/Whole-Foods-365 Hardwood Charcoal also...

Breast of veal, how would you cook in the WSM?

Ray, Thanks for posting that, I was feeling some virtual facial punishment as I had cooked some veal. The place I bought it from said it's all naturally raised. I do understand, and still not sure about how the veal is treated, I'm sure it varies. Fact is that the cows we eat are most likely...

Breast of veal, how would you cook in the WSM?

Chuck, I don't cook breakfast too often actually, but when I do it's usually like this... My wife would never cook something like that for herself for breakfast, although she will do it for me sometimes...my sister used to live in San Ramon, off Alcosta but up closer to Bollinger when it wraps...

OK, I've been converted. I'm a lump guy now

Chris, How were the vents when you reassembled? I would think about 1/3rd open on the bottom vents would be enough, and leave the top full open to start. But you say you have them wide open, is that for all 3 vents on the bottom of the WSM and the top vent? And you had the door propped open...
