    Spring has sprung !!

When I bought the boat it had twin Crusader 305's but they were done. I replaced them with twin Mercruiser 350's along with the transmissions, fuel tanks, fresh water system, steering and electrical systems.

    Spring has sprung !!

On Friday I was able to get my boat dropped in the Great South Bay !! Brings back alot of memories every year. When I was a kid my father, grand father, brother and I would make a day of launching whatever boat we had. I could skip school and spend the day on the boat. Dad and Pop are long gone...

    Easter Dinner

Thanks. The Smokefire sure does make it easy and the food comes out great but I enjoy the process with the WSM when I have the time.

    Easter Dinner

Beautiful weather on Long Island for Easter. I did a 6 lb. pork rib roast on the 22 WSM and duck breasts, skirt steak and veggies on the SF EX-6. It was my first try at duck and came out pretty good (none left) but will will try something different for the flavors next time.

    Snake Method & Smoke

I use the snake method in 22 WSM when I'm smoking home made slab bacon. I can hold 150 -170 degrees for 3-4 hours.

    Affixing 2 X 4 to brick wall ?

Ain't that the truth, urethane sealants are forever. There are parts on my 1968 Chris Craft that I still can't get loose.

    Just a little brisket

It took 4 hours total, 3 hours unwrapped and one hour wrapped after it hit 160. I let it rest for an hour before I sliced it.

    Affixing 2 X 4 to brick wall ?

Yes something like that will work and the 5/16-18 is good or 3/8-16 would work if the holes are already oversized. Set the anchor flush with the face of the birack and let the bolt pass through the 2x4.

    Affixing 2 X 4 to brick wall ?

Lynn we have to fasten to brick all the time. The best results have been epoxy anchors, either threaded inserts or threaded rod.

    Just a little brisket

My wife came home from the store with a 2 lb. brisket flat, I put it on the Smokefire on Saturday at 235. Came out better than I expected for such a small, lean piece of meat.

    Wind got my Master Touch!

Years ago I had the seat cushions on my boat re done, took my son, about 6 years old, fishing the next day. I was teaching to rig poles and use a pocket knife, told him to always put the knife some place safe when he wasn't using it. His idea of safe was to bury the blade in the seat cushion.

    Smoking Wood ???

Unfortunately they don't offer any seminars, I have been talking with the folks in their office and other guys that I worked with that have retired. Its more to process than I ever thought. I finally got the cabinet finished.
