    Sausage question

Thanks Len. I was unsure about the middle links coming apart when you separated them.

    Sausage question

I just received a copy of Bruce Aidell's book, Complete Sausage Book and I was reading about creating sausage links. The author suggests how to pinch and twist the casing to create links but at the end, he says to seal the ends. My question is: How do you seal the ends of the links? I have a...

    wok

Corey, The flat-bottomed wok could be used indoors as well and being cast iron, will conduct and retain heat very well. I'm not convinced that you necessarily have to purchase the grate for the wok as you could place it right on the coals. Woks are designed to be used with very high...

Weber announces sneak peek to 2012

I do like the intial look of the Weber Plancha. Originally posted by JLevitan: 'I wish they had come out with it sooner as I purchased La-Plancha. The only problem I see with it, is that some kind of drain hole in the center? If so, I use a lot of oils in my La-Plancha and the oils would just...

Weber announces sneak peek to 2012

I like the looks of the Smokey Joe bag. Now I can take my SJS without having it fall over.

    Marty Leach Wooden Handles

I saw this on the TVWB Facebook page. They are beautifully crafted; I just ordered two maple handles. Thanks for the info, Chris!

Cast iron grates on the SJS

Good question, George! The ring that holds the two grill sections has two 3/8" 'bumps', for lack of a better term, on opposite sides. My guess is that, since they also sell grill/griddle sections that are solid, the gap is for airflow. It doesn't create any serious problems unless you have...

Cast iron grates on the SJS

I grilled Roadside Chicken today on my SJS with Craycort CI grates. Gave some good grill marks and really holds the heat well. Because the grates are wider than the stock grates, it's easier to flip the chicken without tearing the skin. Roadside Chicken on cast iron

Will 22.5" Hinged cooking grate fit OTS?

Not a dumb question at all. The OTS and OTG share the same charcoal bowl so the hinged grate will fit perfectly. Good luck! Dan

    briquettes most similar to lump?

I tried this last summer as I was able to buy it locally. I haven't used any other brand but I agree with Kevin that it works really well.

Weber 22.5 inch half cast iron grate

Alan, The handle is just a bit too far extended from the chimney to fit in the opening.

Weber 22.5 inch half cast iron grate

My grate and griddle arrived yesterday from Amazon. It is a nice piece but the griddle finish is very grainy. It is like a grill pan that I bought last summer from Williams-Sonoma. That pan was 'panned' by a lot of reviewers because things stuck and clean-up was a hassle. Without even...

    CI grates for the SJ

Has anyone used one of these? I just got an email about them and was wondering if they were worth the investment. I have the grate for the 22.5 and really like it and it seems that the small one would be a nice addition to the SJS.

    Knob Assembly

Guy, Like you, I broke the handle or more specifically, the metal housing popped out. I called Weber CS and they shipped the entire door. Unfortunately, the same thing happened with the replacement so I just glued the housing inside the handle.

Gary Wiviott's Book: Has anyone followed the program exactly?

I started out with the program and got through two chicken cooks before I found TVWBB. I have to say that I found some of Kevin Kruger's suggestions just too interesting and I sorta combined the Wiviott program with Kevin's ideas. I'm not sorry because both worked well and I continue to...

Does anyone know what this is?

I was lucky enough to find one a couple of years ago on ebay. It was in the original packaging with a date of 1977 on it. My father used one for years and it's a lot sturdier than the ones that Weber sells now.

    Weber 18.5 SS Grill

Mike, I replaced the top one with a SS hinged as well. I wasn't aware that Weber made a SS bottom grill for the WSM. Let use know when/if you receive it as it will be much easier to maintain than the original nickel-plated one.

New Weber cookbook due April, 2010

It seems that Jamie has two books available; the one Bob listed and another substituting 'chicken' for 'steak' in the title. If they are anything like his other books, they should be well worth buying. Weber's On the Grill: Chicken & Sides

Is the WSM the real deal?

Glenn W wrote: I had an Brinkmann electric gourmet, only could use in the summer months because it would not get hot enough. That was my experience too. Even with a thermal blanket around it, the electric element couldn't compensate for the heat loss in cold weather. It did an okay job in...
