UPDATE:
I ended up buying a NOS Raspberry Pi 3 B+ board for $30. It looked just like the board on the left in my photo above. It worked so I am going to pick up 4 more boards.
So in full transparency, I am apparently an idiot who just fried the Raspberry Pi 3 B+ on my perfectly working HeaterMeter 4.3 that I cooked a fantastic turkey on Turkey day. I have always struggled to get my 22" WSM above 325º with the original Adapt-a-damper 6 CFM fan. I decided the day...
I am using my Heatermeter to cook a 23lb bird using the Adapta-a-damper with the 6cfm fan and as my previous experiences, it is hard to keep the 22" WSM above 325º with that fan. I keep telling myself I am going to print the larger 15CFM fan for next Thanksgiving and end up getting too busy so...
I have made about half a dozen of these over the years for family, friends and neighbors, the last 2 were 4.3. I love this thing and am getting ready to order parts for another 3 or so. I have both the 18" and 22" WSM and would like a second for myself and one for a spare. I am grateful for...
Hi Chris,
What are you using in the Smokey Mountain these days? I have always stocked up on the Kingsford professional when Costco has their spring sales but I missed it this year. I hate the smell of the original Kingsford as it is starting up.
UPS delivered the WSM today. Everything looked good except for the center section that was pretty scratched up. Registered it on Weber's site and gave them a call. As expected, they are shipping me out a new center section. Love this company. As with others who have a Weber obsession, it...
That's what I figured. Anytime I have ever called them for anything, they took care of it. Even when I call them for stuff on my 20 yr old original SS performer they help me out. Their customer service is unbelievable.
Just ordered a 22" from Amazon Warehouse sold as Used - But like new with a note that the packaging is damaged. We will see. It has free returns if any part of the WSM is damaged. When I researched it, it says the product is in perfect condition but can't be sold as new since the packaging is...
About 3 weeks ago, a friend that lives across the street and knew I liked to smoke BBQ asked me for my recommendation on what he should buy. I told him about my setup (18" WSM & HM 4.0). I told him if he wanted a WSM that I would build him a HM to go with it. I ordered a couple of HM 4.3.5...
I saw that last night. I just have to figure out if ordering from Aim to Find is worth saving the $20. It is interesting that on the listing, it says that Amazon is providing the $20 discount instead of the seller and that it is a limited time offer. Just a guess that when Amazon gets them...
Hey guys,
I am finally ready to upgrade from the 18" to the 22". They are only new from a seller on Amazon called "Aim to Find". Their rating over the past 12 months is 80% with their last 30 day average at 61% positive which is way lower than any other 3rd party I would ever buy from on...
That is super clear compared to the clear PETGs I have tried in the past. I will be ordering a roll to try it out. Nice that it is cheap too. How well does it print up?
