If you're planning on making some chickens on that there rotisserie, let me explain something real quick: Rotisserie chickens are cooked hot. Like 450 500 hot. Have fun!

    2nd Chance for a True Weber Classic: A 1998 1st Generation Summit 450

Jon, how is the grill holding up? Specifically the fabricated stainless panels: are they still secure?

    Could Not Resist

I did mean higher in number. Ah, the Mohs Scale! If only Friedrich was around for steel wool and green scrubbies!

    Could Not Resist

I always thought green scrubbie was “higher grit” than steel wool. I stand corrected!

    Could Not Resist

Hmmm. I did kind of scrub it but there was very minimal elbow grease. I remember scrubbing the lid with steel wool initially. I’m OK with how it looks, the lid is by far among the best condition parts!

    Restoration tips and advice

I'm jealous of the resources you have in that shop! Now, the next thing you are going to want to do is go find five or ten more of these grills and grab them up. Some will be just for parts, others will be "irresistable". Just go hog wild, without thinking of any consequences. Once you have...

For those with older Weber grills do you do this?

I do keep extra flavorizers (2 sets in reserve, 3 total for some reason) and an extra set of burners for the 3000, which sometimes is a 2000. Lately I've been deep frying outside on the side burner, so it's probably going to stay a 3000 for a while. But yes, a lot of people keep parts. Oh, in...
