Unicorn Found! The Weber Flat Top FT-400

Hi Jon, I think, and I am not sure about this, the FT400 and the FT600 were marketed at different/same times in the USA as both the Weber FT400, Weber FT600 and /or the Summit 400, Summit 600. I think the Summit 400 and Summit 600 got the good SS rod grates, The Weber ET400/600s the stamped SS...

Unicorn Found! The Weber Flat Top FT-400

Hi Jon, someone has put one up for sale in South Australia, asking $120AUD, describing it as 'unused'. Probably a tad ambitious in the ask, but... Anyway there are some photos

Unicorn Found! The Weber Flat Top FT-400

What is this BTU you speak of....? From my FT 600 LP (so 6 burners not Jon's 4 burners) Type of gas Propane Nominal Hourly Gas Consumption 69.60 MJ/h Injector Size 1.02 mm Test Point...

Unicorn Found! The Weber Flat Top FT-400

Larry, I really like this theory. In Australia, I am yet to come across a Summit 'Series One' of any type that has serious rot around the burners. I suspect most cooking was done here in Australia with the lid up, so not stressing the porcelain as much?

Unicorn Found! The Weber Flat Top FT-400

Hi Larry, I suspect the BTU ratings were the same across the 'Series One' Summit range. For example, Weber part 98198 is the manifold for the FT 400 NG. Apparently this part also fits The Summit 425NG (pre 2000), Summit 450NG, Summit 475NG, and... the Kenmore 616.261101 For the FT 400 LP...

    New Q?

"The new WEBER Q range of BBQs has arrived! Featuring a sleek new look, increased lid height and cooking surface, plus improved ventilation that allows a full size hotplate! AND there's an additional model in the range that features a extra burner for a broader range of cooking temperatures...

    Genesis Australia to UK

Sigh. If it is LPG you just need a connector that fits UK LPG gas bottles if they are different to AU gas bottles. If NG just the correct connectors. "Now I don’t exactly want CE mark and validation according to local gas laws" If you are cool with this, it is not a problem.

Picked up this beauty the other day! Weber FT400

As I understand it the FT-400 & 600s, were 'made for Australia' as at time we really did not understand that a BBQ with a lid down cooking system was a means to an end. Pretty much all our 'BBQing' was over an open wood fuelled fire,(often a dual purpose back yard incinerator) with a grill if...

GENESIS 5000 TIMBER - GREY PAINT OR STAIN?

I do not think I have seen a black lid 5000 in OZ. Could be American Cedar, it is light enough in weight. Not Western Red Cedar, or Australian Red Cedar. I suspect that they did come with the US slats installed. The 'New' 1100 I have was a direct import that had been in storage for many years...

GENESIS 5000 TIMBER - GREY PAINT OR STAIN?

Hi Mark, South Coast of NSW. Genesis Jnr., nice, you do not see too many of them either. I have tended to collect/restore the Summit Gassers in recent years. Currently working on an E-460 which I think is going to become my 'go to' cooker for pizzas and rotisserie. It's a fun hobby, with this...

GENESIS 5000 TIMBER - GREY PAINT OR STAIN?

Nice find Jon, in the catalogue. A photo of my swapping out the old grey/gray slats for the new teak stained ones A photo of the finished look The previous owner had painted the lid handle green- the paint is gradually wearing off.

GENESIS 5000 TIMBER - GREY PAINT OR STAIN?

Hi Mark, I am also in Australia. I have two 5000s (both green) one fully restored, one for spares. To me, the original timber slats are a grey stained US maple. I also had a 'brand new' (now gifted to our daughter- liked the 'retro' look) Genesis 1100 'Red Head'. The slats on that also appeared...

Wanted to Buy/Find: Cover for Summit Flat Top 400

Chris phone Weber Australia, it is probably your best chance, other than a custom made cover. Unlike Australia, the flat-tops were not sold much in the USA. And NOS covers may not be in the best condition, if available at all.

I will just leave this here

They are the stops and the catches in one. They clip over the bottom square frame, so the glass door stays in place when closed. Did the 3400 have the 'smoke and chips' device, or the serving tray, as per the 5000?
