    Missing Screw - WSM 18.5"

Agreed, Chris. While I could have gone to Home Depot and found a compatible screw, I chose to reach out to Weber via email on Monday. They needed the serial number, which I sent that evening. Tuesday morning I got an email telling me my order had shipped, via FedEx overnight. When I got home...

    Missing Screw - WSM 18.5"

Thanks! I'll stop by the Big Orange Box on my way home and see if they have one.

    Missing Screw - WSM 18.5"

Just unboxed my new WSM 18.5" this afternoon, only to find that the screw for the lid handle was not included in the parts box. (This is my second WSM. The first one had the wrong straps, and this one is missing hardware, so Weber isn't exactly batting .1000 here.) Does anyone know what screw...

FS: 18 1/2" Smoky Mountain Cooker (Middle Georgia)

With great reluctance, I am selling my 18 1/2" Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker. My wife and I are moving out of state, into an apartment that does not allow charcoal grills. (I tried explaining that this not a grill, but they wouldn't budge.) I've used it less than a dozen times. It does need a...

    Thoughts on First Cook

All of the above, Jeff. They were very dark color, almost like a Boston Butt smoked for 12 hours. Not that nice mahogany color I was looking for. The slabs fell apart when I took them off to put them in the foil. They were very dry before foiling, but better after. So, they were overcooked...

    Thoughts on First Cook

I got my 18.5" WSM, and after Weber sent the correct straps (the ones in the box were for a 22"), I fired it up for the first time on July 4. I decided to do some spare ribs, St. Louis cut, using a hybrid of the 3-2-1 method and Johnny Trigg's recipe, with McCormick's Pork Rub (since I...

The correct straps arrived today, and "R2" ( as my family calls my WSM) is fully assembled, awaiting his first smoke on July 4!

    New WSM w/Bad Parts

Nothing today. If it doesn't arrive tomorrow, I'll call again on Monday and get them to overnight them.

    New WSM w/Bad Parts

Brian, did you get your replacement straps? They were sending mine USPS, and they aren't here yet.

    New WSM w/Bad Parts

We may have spoken to the same woma, Brian. She was very helpful, and apologized up and down about the mixup. She was very concerned about making sure I had the replacements in time for July 4th. While there may be a little quality control issue on the packaging line, I couldn't be happier...

    New WSM w/Bad Parts

Thanks, Tim. The holes are 7.25" apart, while the holes in the body are 6" apart. That means the straps are Part #63021, which are for the 22.5" model, rather than Part #84201 for my 18.5" model. Hopefully, the new straps will be here by the weekend, so I can fire the beast up for the first time!

    New WSM w/Bad Parts

I got my new 18.5" WSM today, and ran into a problem. The 4 internal brackets appear to be the wrong parts. The holes in the brackets are about an inch (or so) farther apart than the corresponding holes in the body. I immediately called Weber, and they're sending replacement brackets. (Not a...
