    Summit S-670 Frame replacement options?

I was going to email them one more time, but the rep I was talking with was pretty adamant that they would not replace anything out of warranty. Yes, the pins do seize up, and getting the old ones out took me a good hour, a lot of PB blaster, a nail set plus a (small) sledgehammer. I have...

    summit deal?

🤔 You wouldn’t happen to have the LHS and bottom panels for the 670, would you? All four panels could need replacing on mine. Four decent casters? Rotisserie motor, shaft, and forks? Side burner gas line? IR burner assembly?

    Parting out Summit S-450 SS

Any chance the left hand side panel of the cabinet/frame is not rusted out? I have an s670 that won’t even hold a wheel/insert. I assume the left and right sides are all the same on this generation?

SS firebox parts for 2007 S-650 Summit

I just picked up an S670 for almost nothing, and Weber replaced the firebox, lid, and burners. If you end up getting a quote, please let me know. If I go forward with this rebuild, anything that would prolong the life of the box has me interested.

    Summit S-670 Frame replacement options?

Long story short, I found a pretty decent S-670 almost free online, got it home and the frame/cart is toast. Bottom panel is swiss cheese and the front left will not even hold a caster/insert its so bad. I was able to get it registered with Weber, and they actually replaced the burners, lid...

First turkey - have questions (brine, inject, or both?)

14+ lb bird, self-basting. Plan to do the VWBB butterball brine (low salt) tonight for start of cook around 11am tomorrow. Aiming for 300-325 degrees at 15-20 mins per lb with Apple chunks. Reading different methods regarding injecting, etc. so I bought some Timy Sachere’s Creole Butter. Would...

    WSM Cover

Update a year later. Even at $60, the Kamodo Joe cover lets some water in, but not nearly as bad as the cover that comes with the smoker. I keep my smoker outside on the patio 100% of the time, so I ended up just grabbing some of our big can liners at work to put under the KJ cover.

    WSM Cover

I just bought a Kamodo Joe waterproof cover (classic Joe size) and it fits more than easily over my 22.5 WSM with the hinge. Extends past the air vents and nearly to the ground, even with the casters I put on the legs. It's alsmot too big where the wind would be a concern, but there is a...

"Basic BBQ Chicken" vs. Beer Can Chicken

Thanks for the replies. I've decided that I'm never doing chicken like that again. Four hours-plus is ridiculous. Going to stick with basic BBQ chicken method or do them on the Genesis.

"Basic BBQ Chicken" vs. Beer Can Chicken

I'm having 25-ish employees/guests tomorrow night for an annual work party, and I am going to do beer can chicken. Last year, I did three spatchcocked with the basic BBQ chicken method, and results were great. We are having a few more guests this year and I don't have room to do four that way...

Hinge install - gasket adhesive on nuts/bolts?

I know it was overkill, but figured, "why not," and put a little dab on each bolt. Moreso just to make sure they stay snug and prevent rusting than to seal any gaps. I decided against putting any on the back of the hinge plates, though.

Hinge install - gasket adhesive on nuts/bolts?

Put the gasket on my 22.5" last night. Currently In the process of putting the lid hinge on today and was wondering if anyone has also put some of the gasket adhesive behind the hinge plates and/or on the nuts to seal everything completely? I mean, I went through the expense and trouble to apply...

Chicken for 20 - how long can keep warm?

I just decided that I'd start it about half an hour before everyone arrived. Since the weather was nice, I was able to meet and greet and still keep any eye on the birds, which turned out great, BTW.

Chicken for 20 - how long can keep warm?

I'm having our staff holiday party tomorrow and am smoking three birds (halved) on my 22". Party starts at 6, but we probably won't eat until 7-7:30. I'd prefer to have the cooking done by the time everyone arrives because some have to leave early and I actually want to see them vs. being busy...
