Weber Summit Charcoal Grill and Summit Charcoal Grilling Center - New for 2016

I was all excited seeing this in my FB news feed, then read the price. I don't see the $2000 value over my existing SS Performer and Mini WSM. For that price point, I'm off to a Rec Tec pellet grill/smoker.

High Heat cooking on the Mini

That's what I was afraid of. Might just use the Performer then and smoke some sausage links then.

High Heat cooking on the Mini

Going to do a smoked brisket tomorrow and a friend said he wanted to come over and watch the process because he is interested in buying a 14.5" WSM. Well, he doesn't want to get there at 4:30 for the fire up so I was going to modify the process and go HH. My Mini has a Gold for the base and no...

"Mini WSM" and Performer Smoke Day in San Diego

Just helped a buddy move and were talking about my "Mini WSM" and how cool it is. Inviting him over for to show it off for Smoke Day. Going to do a Butt and Brisket on it and ribs on the Performer. Have a feeling he will be getting an official 14.5 WSM after seeing and tasting it.

14.5" Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker Model 711001

I will probably end up getting one, but will still need a SJ for those "just the two of us" BBQ's. I will have to see if engineering the WSM to grilling would work. Considering I have about $150 into my Mini WSM ($100 to powder coat pot), I would do that amount for the real deal, not much more...

    How do you clean...

I just did the grate's and water pan with Steel Wool pads for the first time. It has about a dozen smokes on them. Being in an apartment with no garden hose, I used a bucket with soap. I smoked some ribs, a butt, and some salmon yesterday. Open all vents and burn all the fuel after pulling...

WSM 22.5, just assembled but not a perfect fit

That is great that Amazon stood behind the sale. I have always had good experiences with them. Maybe you could order some Nomex tape like this bloke did and salvage the original unit... Nomex Tape Mod

Help and Aussie select the right WSM

Forgot to say, I'm in Brissy and have a 22.5" that I brought with me from the US. Glad I got the bigger one. There is another thread about regretting getting the 22.5 over the 18.5, and not one person has!

Help and Aussie select the right WSM

Someone was saying that Amazon now ships the WSM to Australia. I would look into it here, and make sure you click the link to help support the board. I found the link, but it is to another bbq forum, but an Aussie one. If this isn't allowed, please remove this link.

    Mold

Just did the same think this past weekend. It had been a couple of weeks since smoking, forgot I hadn't cleaned it. Went to put the cover on and lifted the lid. All those growing things shocked me. So I just fired up the briquettes that were left over with all the vents open. Should...

    Anyone ever regret the 22.5?

The 22 is a little big for the two of us and the dinner parties for 5-6, but that is where the Smoker Joe is used. For the larger events, the 22 is perfect and worth every penny paid. No regrets

    St. louis style ribs

The constant fighting of rising temps could be air leaks. Make sure the door is tight at the top and bottoms. Someone recently noticed that the had a leak at the bottom that caused there temps to keep rising. Maybe foil gasket the middle section? HTH, Ryan
