Started at 4:45 Friday afternoon. Now 7:00 AM Pit - 225 Meat - 181. Weather was not that bad. Just a little rain. Wish it was a little easier to post pics then going thru Flickr.
Right now I wasn't planning on any.
I've cooked in poor weather before without any.
I have an L-shaped section of fence I may put around it for wind protection.
Starting a 5 butt (all 8 lbs+) cook this evening on my 22-1/2. The weather looks like rain & wind with temps dropping. I may start the cook a little early to make sure everything gets done and pulled for the party tomorrow afternoon. I'm planning on putting the largest 2 butts on the bottom and...
Starting with my handle with the brass grommet stripped out I drilled thru from the WSM side with a 17/64" drill (slightly a over 1/4). From the handle side I used a flat bottom 3/8" drill and counter bored 1/8" deep. I then inserted a 1/4-20 UNC Socket Head Cap Screw x 2" long. I then put it...
If I were going to get a new grate for my WSM I'd opt for the Stainless Steel 22-1/2 hinged grate. I think the stainless grates clean up easier and last longer.
I'm looking for a schematic of what goes where on the 22.5 WSM door handle assembly. I know I saw a schematic somewhere on this site but I can't seem to find it.

Is that true??
I wanted to order a stainless steel grate for my WSM

This past Saturday I went to open the door to add some charcoal and the handle fell apart. The brass sleeve in the plastic handle (that's pressed in) worked it's way out. I ended up having to duct tape the door on to finish the cook. Yes, Weber is sending me a new door assembly. I still think...
I think the problem is that the brass internal threaded piece that gets pressed into the handle loosens up and finally falls out. I had this during a cook on Saturday morning. I had to end up using "Duct Tape" to get the door to stay on. Weber is sending me a new door but I think I need a way to...
