Better sealing for better temp control

During my first 2 years of owning the 18 inch WSM, I noted an "out of round" condition and sloppy fit on my stock aluminum door. It didn't seem to make any difference at all in quality or temp control. As a matter of fact, I could start a full load "minion" method with a full water pan using 12...

    Craycort's Cast Iron Grate

I've been using one on my Performer for several months now. Here's some initial reactions. Grill Marks: Excellent grill marks and cooking experience. Convenience: This is going to require some changes in your routine. It's heavy and has to go somewhere while you're inside the grill getting...

Thermapen over constant in meat probe?

Thermapen! I haven't overcooked anything since buying one. That includes numerous steaks, two prime ribs, and massive amounts of chicken and pork. Without the wires of a probe, it's like total freedom. All you have to know is a round about cooking time based on the temps the grill or cooker...

    Replacing stock 2009 WSM Thermometer

I don't quite follow. Are there 2 holes drilled to accomodate the Weber Therm? Was wondering because I love my Tel True on my Old School WSM and was thinking of upgrading to a 22inch and then replacing the therm. Thanks in advance. Mike

    Grill Grates

I've got a Cast Iron grate on my performer and it's a joy to cook with......Totally different cooking experience. I paid a steep price though (80usd) and the verdict is still out on routine use as the maintenance and care required will be an additional concern...............But I'll tell you...

    Cast Iron Grate

Couldn't agree more. I'm on my honeymoon with this thing. I grill 4-5 times a week all year long. I'm in the moist Pacific Northwest as well. I'll post more once I settle into a pattern of Grill/Clean/Season. I didn't think it would be, but it's very different with a cast Iron grate. Hard to...

    Cast Iron Grate

It's pricey, but it arrives very quick and is as advertised. I cranked up the performer to high temps, installed the grate and slapped some London Broil on............ Grill Marks are fantastic and very Quick....... I'll post more when I've got some history with maintaining it (i.e cleaning...

Kit_R Thanks, just the data I was looking for. I think I'll go for it. Even with the old one there seems to be a trick to getting the Washers and nuts just right

18" WSM Stainless Steel Door Replacement

Just got mine the other day (for 18inch). I have the original style WSM (Pre '09 WSM). Anybody out there buy this new door from CB and then buy a new model knob from Weber. If so, what exactly is involved in making the new knob fit? Thanks Mike

    Number of charcoal starts??

I haven't kept track, but shooting from the hip, I'm guessing I get between 15 - 20 cooks out of a single can. I always use a chimney and generally secure the propane after about 5 minutes. Just long enough to get the bottom half of the coal going good and hot. Actually it may even be more than...

Smokey Joe is an excellent grill

I've been doing some cooking with SJS and reading about various concerns regarding performance (Temps primarily). I have not encountered these problems. This little grill rocks! I've written about some of my experiences recently...... Smokey Joe Silver

    Amazing Weber Kettle Longevity

There's got to be some amazing cases of Kettle longevity that has come to the attention of the Weber Co. Any you can share with us regarding a kettle that experienced steady use over X number of years and was still going strong.

    Kettle Wobble

I've owned a 22inch Kettle for 5 years (OTS) and feel it's by far the best Value on the market overall. I've always wondered how Weber felt about the Kettle Wobble on the base. It's a strange characteristic for such a solid product.

    What does "In Stock" mean?

I clicked the 22inch WSM AD on the main page for TVWB that stated "IN Stock" and found an Amazon ship date of 4 to 7 weeks. Just what exactly does "In Stock" mean? I've noticed this for a couple weeks now? Not sure how the ad is fed to the site, but it's disingenuous to keep it on the site...
