I can't wait to do a turkey for the first time this year. Will probably do a practice run before Thanksgiving. I'm wondering why the turkey recipes I see are all in the 2-3 hour range instead of the typical 8-12 hours for other food (like the delicious pork butt I did yesterday). Curious to hear...
Not sure how this happened or if it is safe. This happened to a spare Spirit E-210 cart somehow. No longer heats up, but I keep returning to it.
Do you think it's safe to consume from this cart? I tried last night but am having trouble remembering the results...
How do you feel about the JB Weld being in the burner box? That would be my preferred solution but I worry about off-gassing, especially at high temps.
I have an older Genesis that is in great condition with the exception of a small hole in the burner box. It doesn't look like any other parts of the burner box will give out. It's a little smaller than an eraser head. Is there anything I could "fill" it with that would be non-toxic to food?
I have a 2002 Genesis Silver A. The frame and everything is immaculate, but the lid is beat up and dented. It looks like the 2002/3 Genesis Silver A uses the Spirit 200 lid - it is slightly smaller than the normal Genesis lid.
I'm in central Iowa. Willing to drive a little ways. Let me know if...
Thank you to everyone on the forum for all the help and insight. I have a Spirit E210 Lid from around 2014, plus the front burner part. Both are free for pickup to anyone that can use them. I am in central Iowa. Please send me a message if you are close by. Thanks again!
Message received. It might blow everyone's mind that I am a risk-averse person. Won't jump out of an airplane, won't ride a motorcycle (anymore), I wear sunscreen...but this, well...no excuse.
The problem is coming from zone 1. It's pretty old so I'll try out the pipe dope...and soap and water.
Here's another curbside freebie I got. I was fixing this up for my sister and brother in law but ran into a big issue. Where the propane hose meets the frame, propane leaks out. Probably a stupid idea but I held a lighter to this area and it did light up. It looks like the hose enters the...
Thank you! Are you able to ignite either the P shaped burner tube or the center tube from the igniter? It doesn't look like the P burner holes are close enough. Thanks for taking the time to take and upload the photos.
Can't thank you enough for the response and links. The "Wind and Rain" link was an especially great read as we live in a windy area. Thanks again and I'll head over to the weberbullet site!
I've wanted a WSM forever and found a WSM 18 on the side of the road during our local "junk day". It's in great condition - I haven't found a serial number yet.
The grates seem to be pretty bad and rusted. A couple of grates questions...I'll use this photo as a guide.
1. Top grate - I'm...
I bought that exact burner tube set and can't get them to ignite with the igniter. Do you mind sharing a couple photos of what your igniter setup looks like in the burner box?
I'm running into this exact problem with these burners ( amazon.com/gp/product/B07RHX2N58/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 )
At first, I thought it was a problem with the igniter I purchased as it's not the exact "right" igniter...
