Merry Christmas - We're Moving To Xenforo!

Congratulations on the move! I've long used XenForo on my sites, since 1.0. It's infinitely better than vB for users and admins! Thanks for taking the time to do the migration!

I will just leave this here

Here's someone offering a free Skyline. Rust on the left side is worrisome and no condiment basket. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2515556095345947/

    Cook Box Paint

That's amazing. Love the contrast with the lid, which is also a great color. Great work, as always.

Added a Performer to my backyard last night

I've had a few cooks and last night I used the Slow n' Sear. It was also the first time I used the Weber chimney. The grill came with Match Light, which has a smell to it. Picked up some of the blue bag and Weber starter cubes. I was amazed at how well the chimney lights up and gets the charcoal...

Added a Performer to my backyard last night

I've been on the forums for a few months now and I now own 3 working grills and random parts! Having spent much of my time in the gas grill section, I've become interested in kettles and started looking through FB and Craigslist. Last night, I drove an hour plus into NYC to pick-up a Crate and...

    Weber Genesis 1000 Redhead "Kit-Kat"

Having completed two restores, I wanted to experiment with some new paint. I had a redhead lid that was from a donor, so I figured that would be a good start. It cleaned up nicely using #0000 and Simple Green. It looks like the previous owner used some sort of abrasive on the interior, but...

I will just leave this here

With nothing left but parts left from a donor, I cleaned up a redhead top. There's some chipping at the bottom right front, but the top itself shined up nice. Ordered some Krylon Brown high heat and going to experiment with the parts I have left (frame, firebox and lid).

    Blue 2000

Great looking grill. The 2000 might be my favorite thanks to all the wood. And that condiment basket!

Starting My 2nd Restore: Skyline 1200 LP

I think I may have used Krylon on the end caps and frame. I used Rustoleom matte black on the firebox. Do you by chance know what color to use to match the gray on the 05 Genesis SS Platinum end caps? I have a spare Genesis 1000 frame from a donor grill that's going to the trash. Before it...

Starting My 2nd Restore: Skyline 1200 LP

Thanks everyone! I'm addicted. Both are keepers and currently looking at adding charcoal to my arsenal of grills. Also spotted a 2005 Genesis Platinum that would be a nice addition, thought it seems overpriced and I've read the inside is rust prone. Here's a nice before and after of the...

Starting My 2nd Restore: Skyline 1200 LP

It's what I consider to be finished. I do have some smaller things, but in no particular rush. I may touchup the front of the firebox and work on the wheels at some point. Also, I need to change the pitch of the shelf. Thanks to all on the forum for your help and guidance - and Jon...

Weber Grill Out Light #9057 on it's way

I just installed this on my Skyline (photos to come, as it's finished) and I noticed the handle was relatively hot to touch - notably in the center. Now, I was trying to get the grill to reach peak heat, so I was intentionally warming up the grill. It hit about 520 before I turned it off...

I will just leave this here

Thanks Rich. Any idea what year it's from? I just got up to speed on gassers, so my kettle knowledge is thin.

I will just leave this here

With two gas restores just about finished, I've turned my eye to getting a charcoal kettle. Was eyeing the new Master Touch colors at $250. Thoughts on this used Performer? Says the price is firm at $150. https://longisland.craigslist.org/for/d/lindenhurst-weber-charcoal-barbecue/6950915843.html

Weber Grill Out Light #9057 on it's way

It was $5 plus $42 shipping. Odd pricing, but clear they were overcharging for shipping. I can't unsee Jon's Skyline, so I had to have it. With none others available on eBay, I felt it was worth the premium. It also means I don't have to sand the custom handle I was creating, so that's priceless!
