I can almost always get them at Wegmans for a decent price too. It's also one of the only places I can find Tri Tip and decent sized Chuck Roast. I also like their store branded lump charcoal. I may have to take a ride. I stil haven't found a source for packer briskets in North Jersy though...

I don't think that drilling out the guru eyelets will accomodate the 732 probes. I didn't try drilling them out because when I tried to put them through, it didn't even seem close. I went to Home Depot and picked up a 3/8 threaded brass nipple from the plumbing fittings and some brass nuts and...

If you go to the plumbing fittings, you can get an all brass threaded nipple.

I just got mine. I haven't used it yet but the crimps on the new probes aren't even close to fitting through the guru eyelets. I can't imagine reconfiguring the crimps enough to fit through. I guess I'm off to Home Depot.

I was thinking of using the exsting hole(s) as well. Could you post a pic or 2 of how you did it? Btw, the crimp on the ET-732 probes doesn't even come close to fitting through the Guru grommetts. Keep these ideas coming.

Thanks Neil. I'm in eastern Monmouth County. I'll try Western Beef. I checked their website and it looks like they carry a lot of those hard to find cuts. There's only that one in NJ but quite a few in NYC.

Neil, just curious, where in NJ did you buy a whole packer? I can't seem to find one.
