So 'Aldi' the German supermarket chain have announced for the (winter) season they will stock Pork Knuckles - Cool i will go grab some! and here they are

Each one comes with a packet of caraway seeds & garlic mix, so that's all i put on these baby's that mixed with some oil on rubbed on.

Right burn some timber down to embers

Wasn't sure if my Rotisserie could handle three each one being an average of 1.5kg but what the heck lets give it a go :D

Like i thought it struggled a bit but manged to do a good job.......and then almost disaster i was detailing my car and i smelt it!....burning meat that is a fat fire threatened to wreck dinner! i managed to save them but some of the outside got charred

Apart from this mishap they was fantastic so tender the bone just fell clean out of all three and the crackling was so crunchy 4.5hrs slow cooking and oh yeah will be getting some more

Well done!!!
I must admit I never heard of pork knuckles.
Plated pic looks delicious...

Pork knuckles...YES!!! Your photos bring back some great memories for me. A few years ago, I was traveling in Germany, and got to try roasted pork knuckles in Munich (it was called Schweinshaxe, if I remember correctly), and it was among the best pork dishes I've ever tried. Crispy, fatty, juicy, tender, with very pronounced pork flavor...what more can you ask for? Thanks for sharing these pictures.

Saw a full shelf of these when we were in Germany..If i know they would look like that when cooked i would bought a bag. Great one Mr!

I get them at a slaterhouse. We call them pig's feet & pork hocks. The feet are very boney and not much meat on them. The hocks just above the foot are much better. I like them boiled with a little white vinegar, salt and pepper. Also smoked.
The ones in the picture are pork hocks. Now I am hungry.
Thanks for sharing.....They sure look good!!!
Chuck.
