I tried to deep fry a Snickers today. Served with vanilla ice cream. Will do again. Much better than deep fried Mars.

Geir, as long as you are frying, how about deep frying the ice cream to go along with the Snickers?

Why not? I've deep fried ice cream several times, and that is a winner. But if you are planning a dinner with guests, my fryer is not big enough for that. But, I think these snickers would be just as nice with the egg based batter than this standard batter I used, made mainly of corn starch and rice flour.

I want one...Need more details...

I think I can improve the result, but here it goes, quite simple:

Insert a stick into the Snickers bar. Put the bar(s) in the freezer for a few hours.

I used a ready made batter, with corn starch and rice flour. Make the batter very thick, use less water than you are told.

Fry the Snickers for a short time. This takes under a minute. When the fryer smells of chocolate, the bars are done.
I think I should had a thicker layer of batter. I suppose I will have to throw away a gallon of fresh oil.. :(

Geir, come to the Texas State fair the got it all there. Deep fried butter, deep fried salsa balls, deep fried watermelon.
