So I got a new Droid Maxx so I had boy #2 (our internal IT department, if you don't have one, have another child until you do - it's great!) root that bad boy and delete all the bloat ware down to a pure google platform. Yeah, we were kind of geeking out last night. For this, I made him burgers and fries tonight...

You people (yeah, the evil ones I spoke about in the title) showed me it was possible to deep fry on the grill, so I bought some crappy freezer fries to give it a trial run. Here is my fry station set up - coals banked on one side, Old bay to season right when they come out, and a rack for draining.

I have shied away from frying on the stove inside due to not being able to get the oil to a proper temp or being able to maintain it. Not a problem here.. I think I had 375' in about 10 minutes. Handy dandy candy thermometer to measure with and with a small amount of oil I was able to get the temp to bounce back quickly after dunking frozen fries.

Action shot for Tony, fries bubbling away with the burgers off to the side...

Here is my night time grilling look - I am bit light challenged out back hence the cool head gear. The beam turns red when I want to get all ninja out there...spooks have to eat to you know.

Getting all GBD... golden, brown, and delicious. I mean, look at that rolling boil - that's awesome! The lovely cooking assistant Cheryl remarked how non oily they were when they came out of the pot.... sign of a good fry right there.

Plated up as a thank you to the live in egg head... best freakin' freezer fries I've ever had. I am ruined, and have you all to thank for it.

A little tease of tomorrow's cook - trying to recreate a local sandwich, the Caribbean Roast from Paseo's in Seattle. Big ol' chuck roast marinating overnight in some jerk style seasoning for it's date with destiny on the WSM...

Thanks for looking - see you tomorrow with a sammich!
