You are all evil, evil people....

I'm sure you had a handy lid just off the picture in case the oil self combusted.

I've experienced it, and it is pretty scary. You do not want to do that, and be uprepared.

Yes Geir! My first thought was a nuclear fireball when a vat of oil bubbled over into the flames.

Move the performer away from the house - check.
deep pot with the minimum amount of oil required - check
manly man welding glove for protection - check!

Safety first people!

Dave, loved your post, great cook!
I must admit while reading the first two pages of your post I was wondering if anyone was going to touch on fire safety. Glad you did.

Well my vote would have been for a different picture in thread for picture of the week. But Chris overruled me again. Congrats on your picture of the week. They do look spectacular.

Geir - pointers? put the lid on if you can? That's what I did when my wsm looked like an upside-down rocket (left the lid off too long - grease in the empty water pan ignited)

Mmmmmmm, fries with mustard as in France, Mayo as in Nederland, and Ketchup in Amerika!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mmmmmmmmm.
