Xmas 2020: Standing Rib Roast

Christmas dinner turned out really good!

I got a 5 bone Choice standing rib roast that weighed in at 12lbs - the family mandated that we have plenty of leftovers

All prepped and ready for the oven


Done and resting - the aroma filling house drove everyone nuts in anticipation


Plated for serving; cornbread stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy from the pan drippings, oven roasted green beans & brussel sprouts, oven baked croissants


Turned out just right I think.

Excellent and looks great! We did the exact same thing but only a 4 bone 5 lb prime rib.

I know, right?

But I've got two college aged boys at home, and they've already destroyed over 1/2 of the roast with 2nd dinner, omelets, and cold snacking on bits & pieces. I plan on some roast beef sandwiches tomorrow which should just about finish it off. I did make a big pot of soup from the bones, which turned out fantastic.

Yup.

Works great for large turkeys and roasts.
