WSM - low temperature - coals at front not lighting :(


 
If you examine the holes in each of the three bottom vent dampers, are they all open or have some been covered with metallic tape or some sort of metal insert or plugs that fill the holes? Or something placed into the charcoal bowl that's blocking the holes? That would be a sure sign of previous ATC use and would certainly contribute to poor combustion adjacent to that vent.
 
Outstanding effort guys in helping me diagnose this issue. I have contacted the previous owner, and so far am waiting a reply. I am planning on a test run at the weekend - with the front vent directly in the middle of the front.

Said it. I was wondering if a vent was blocked, just could not think of a possible reason it could be. You right as usual
