WSM after fishing

Spent Saturday on the Shenandoah river 'fishing' for smallies with my cousin's husband. My wife and 3 of the 4 kids out of the house, so we have an impromptu WSM session on the deck. Fortunately, i had taken out chicken breasts and a Costco pork sirloin roast the day before. Chicken marinated in teriyaki sauce and the pork brined with water, salt and sugar. Had a Jimmy Dean sausage 'fatty' and sprinkled some dizzy dust on it flattened and then rolled it up and covered with bacon weave. Had some Kielbasa in fridge and we had a nice evening outside enjoying some incredible weather (for august in VA). Top with a Jack on the Rocks. Perfect.

What a perfect day. I've pitched many chartreuse beetle spins at Shenandoah smallmouths in the past. It's the best therapy I know of.

Indeed. Unfortunately, the smallies were not biting as well as they usually do, but the cookout was great.
