Woolly Bully kettle blanket


 
I don't see any pics of it cradled in a slide-aside or lid bail.
Looks like it would be a tight fit.
 
In all there testing it supposedly reduces fuel consumption for a long-and-slow cook by about a third, holding temperature constant of course.

The thing is shockingly effective here in the colder weather! It’s a great piece on the arsenal! I have not used it in a snowstorm but, I have no doubts about its efficacy! I have thanked you many times when it’s cold out and I’m doing a brisket!
I would think that the top cover would do a lot on a kettle, I wish them luck!
 
I've been throwing 10'x10' burlap squares over my smokers for literally 30 years. Makes a huge difference.
 
Interesting, if I could have gotten that Copper Grill that folks here were getting for $95, I might look into this, but it looks like it wouldn't be a good fit for my 1985. I am definitely struggling with operations at this altitude. Charcoal burns up extremely fast, and the pit temp isn't as hot as you would expect with the increased rate that the charcoal burns up. I would have loved to have picked up one of those Coppers, and I more than likely have topped it with one of these

My daughter was posting on a BBQ site on Reddit asking for gift ideas.

And the guy who makes the WOOLY BULLY messaged her and offered to send her Dad one for free! She asked me and I said, sure why not? And sure enough, I got one in the mail. I didn't even have to pay for shipping! It was really well packaged and it seems like a five-star product - the way it's manufactured. It just seems like a very high quality item.

I haven't used it yet, but I will report my assessment of it on here soon. :D
