Winter is Coming

I have about 320# on hand now. My issue is finding space to store them. I would hoard a few more 40# bags if I knew where I could put them :D Especially the Kirkland. I am liking them more and more

I'm rethinking my storage plans. My shed is the only place I want to store extra pellets. I rarely go through more than 20 lbs a week so I think I'm only going to keep about 60 lbs on hand. I have multiple stores near by that always seem to have good deals.

And IDK about the Smokefire twins but I can say I am amazed at how "stingy" mine are with pellet use. They run amazingly "cheap". I have never analyzed it but I would not be surprised if they're cheaper to run than the gas grills

Definitely depends how hot you’re running (of course). Smokefire will plow through the fuel if running her hot, but low and slow I’ve never had an issue. I’m trying to recall how long I’ve run before needing to refuel, but I would bet it’s 8 hours minimum. I typically run Smokeboost for a good hour and a half to two hours before turning up to ~225-250

And 360lbs!?? Holy moly haha. Goals

The Lowes price is comparable to Costco's price. I'll check it out at our local Lowes, it's much easier getting to Lowes than Costco (for me)

Hope you got those bags in a dry spot, pellets are no bueno once wet

I don't dare buy anymore pellets or charcoal. My storage locker has 10 bags of 30 lbs. or more stuffed into it and 5 more bags in the garage. My little shed has over 200 lbs. of charcoal in it.
My two charcoal grills the performer, which doesn't get used much anymore and the Jumbo Joe which only burns about 2-3 pounds if that per cook. I'm set for a l o n g time. The Camp Chef which as Larry said about his is very frugal when it comes to pellet usage with at least 400 lbs. of pellets I'll be good for years.

Well, I don't really have these concerns and this thread doesn't apply to me, but I was attracted by the "Game of Thrones" (A Song of Ice and Fire) title "Winter Is Coming". So I'll take the opportunity, whether you saw or liked the HBO series or not, to heartily recommend that series of books. Even if George R.R. Martin never finishes it, it's an outstanding, absorbing, well-written set of books you probably will not be able to walk away from. Frankly, I loved the tv series and completely agree with how it ended -- there were indicators of that ending throughout beginning in the first season. However, the book series is so much better! Here's hoping Martin actually does finish before he or any of us leave THIS world.

Should anyone wish to pursue this off topic comment, I'll be happy to open a new thread under Just Conversation rather than stealing this one. PM me if you like.
