Wings and Beans

So the wife was out of town w/ the baby yesterday evening, so of course this means fire must be lit.

Found a bag of frozen wings and a can of bushes. threw everything but the kitchen sink at those beans and did some indirect grilling of the wings for 2 or 3 hours (even threw in a little pecan wood for fun) and finished them on the genesis w/ a light brushing of a bootleg sauce i make before tossing them in the sauce. Since the wife was away, the Cayenne pepper came out last night and they were GOOD and SPICY.

We have an incomplete cook thread since a couple buddies showed up and we ate out of the platter so there are no finished pix.. BUT thought id share anyway.

and if anyone is interested:
Bushes Baked beans (i think the maple or something)
1/2 onion & 1/2 bell pepper browned in the pan first
add beans, cayenne, paprika, a hit of cajun seasoning, a little honey, a nice soaking of dark beer, a hit of brown sugar and a healthy squirt of ketchup. In hindsight, should have left the honey out and went with just the brown sugar.
Let them cook on the grill for a couple hours, adding more beer when they would start to dry out..I think i was drinking St Arnolds Bock last night.

Wing Sauce:
equal parts Head Country Sauce, Head country HOT Sauce, Franks Red Hot Wing Sauce. A few shakes of worshire sauce, dusting of cayenne, couple tablespoons of butter and a sprinkling of brown sugar. quick cook on the stove and toss in a big bowl after the wings are done.
I love the mix of the BBQ sauce with the tangy wing sauce. Everyone else thats tried also seems to love it. May have gotten a little Jiggy on the pepper last night, but even with sweaty foreheads and runny noses the wings didnt stand a chance :)

There's a plated pic at the end Rusty!:D Looks great, like a bunch of guys having a good time. Beans sound and look wonderful. The wings, what's left of them, look good too.

Nice work. My wife was gone last week, so I made a pot of pinto beans filled with smoked pork neck bones, smoked rind (from bacon I'd put up earlier this year) and a 1/4 lb. salt pork. Turned out great and ate up well with the cornbread I made.
