Will this side burner fit my Genesis ?

Typically there is a female quick connect installed where that plug is. What kind of connection does the side burner have?

Just got her home. This is what I’m dealing with. What’s the extent of new parts I can buy for this to make it like new. Is it as easy as just putting the fittings into my existing manifold and changing out the igniter if the old one doesn’t work?

Something is funky with that connection. Is the connection in the first picture a quick connect and both the male and female parts are connected together still?

This is what I expect see for a quick connect on Silver/Gold C grills.

I think yours is OK, but the quick connect is still connected and the Male side was removed from the manifold.

Here is what they look like apart. Although this is a Genesis Platinum. It may not be the same as a Gold. Bruce would have to confirm.

The quick connects get hard to separate if they get dried out and dirty. If it won't disconnect, spray it with some penetrating oil.

Yah, you are good.

The part in the baggie should screw directly into the port on the manifold.

Not really a quick connect I don’t think. It spins on.

Oh. Ok. I guess you could add a quick connect or just go ahead and use the old connections. But you won't be able to take the side burner off easily.

I think you made the same mistake I made initially when removing mine and rather then using the quick connect feature you may have taken apart the quick connect. If you made the same mistake I made there was a spring in there.

Bruce the one in the baggie was the one I sent you. If you remember I stated, you may have reassembled it because I was unsure how it went back together.

I do have the spring. The quick connect still slides up and down without it tho

Was able to get the quick connect off pretty easily. So I can just screw that into the manifold like in Bruce’s pictures and change the igniter, maybe clean the valves and it should work pretty easily?

Ant, you need that spring in the quick connect. Otherwise the quick connect will be prone to coming apart on it's own.

I have the spring. Just not entirely sure how it goes back together. Is this something that would be better to have too?
