Who makes Weber Briquettes?

Update:

Here is the reply I received. Essentially we’ll never know until they stop being sold, or where they’re made. Figured as much but you can’t blame a guy for trying! 😀

Hi Brad,

We are regret to inform you that we are not able to provide information regarding the future availability of the Weber briquettes in Canada, nor about their sourcing.

Please let me know if you have any queries. We are always here to assist you.

Weber doesn't want anyone to know the maker, and I'm sure the maker had to sign an agreement to not divulge its name. It's very possible that it is not being sold under any other brand name, as per the agreement.
With all of the interest in bringing it back, the maker could probably ditch the more expensive plastic bags, paper bag it, sell it for less, and make a killing. But Weber has its brand to protect.
We need a defector from the plant that made it.

Into my local Home Hardware store (Canada) and they have the new Weber grills in stock for the season. Even the Smokefire. They also had the shelves full of Weber briquettes, at $19.99 Cdn for 20 lbs. The KBB was more than Weber at $16.99 for 16 lbs. Royal Oak Classic was the same price as Weber at 14.99 for 15 lbs. Checked online at my closest Home Depot and they have Weber in stock too at the same price. Maybe they are not stopping manufacturing it but just getting out of the markets where they cannot compete at the price point they want.

Doesn't matter who made it......they don't make it in another form necessarily, formula can be different, cheaper, etc.

Someone knows....the bags leave a plant somewhere., On pallets on a truck. Can't be that big of a secret.
