They all wana take me out to dinner but I said NO buy me some ribs and come over for dinner I will do my own dang cooking .

So who besides me is cooking fathers day for themself ?

Sure, my mother just called me an hour ago to come up with my favorite restaurant. Not an easy task. I would enjoy cooking for myself and family, providing the weather is cooperative. Unless one is retired, BBQing is difficult due to the long hours of tending. Why let the Sunday opportunity pass. I'll suggest eating at home and my only task should be providing the main courses.

Now I hope I receive a positive response from all else involved.

Thank you, Guy, for the suggestion.

Hope you enjoy yours as well,

elliot

I'll be at the beach on vacation with the wife and children on Father's Day, so I'm thinking about grilling fresh shrimp on the smokey joe. A few pounds should be fine, with baked taters and some butter. YUM! I'm looking forward to it already!

i'll be doing my own cooking while the wife will do all the work. not sure what it will be yet but most likely it will be tri tip.

Not sure what we will be doing, but I sure wish Fathers Day was on a Saturday instead. At least then you could enjoy a few more adult beverages and not have to worry about showing up to work the next day with bags under your eyes. Guess I will just have to celebrate it on Saturday and spend Sunday outdoors sweating out what I took in on Saturday.

Great idea, but my wife and I will be going to the Clearwater Festival in Westchester County, NY. Should be fun. Happy Father's Day gents!

Drat! I gotta work till 4:00.
There might be enough time to grill some steaks, weather permitting. We haven't talked about it yet.

We left the decision up to my 8 yo son, he said, "stay home and Dad make ribs." Didn't even have to bribe him

Dunno what I'll be doing yet, but there will be smoke and fire involved from either the Performer or the WSM - maybe both.

I would like to stay home and smoke up some ribs but I have a 2 day event for our softball league that I will be cooking for. So We'll do brunch early sunday morning and I'll be setting up again for the league games around 10am. I don't mind, it is fun flipping burgers.

My family usually gets me a half bushell of crabs for Father's day. But at $120 for 1/2 bushell, I told them to buy steaks for themselves and buy me a good cigar and a nice Halibut steak from Wegmans and I'll cook!

I have two butts thawing that I'll probably cook Saturday, so it will be leftovers for Father's Day.

Edit: Father's Day dinner was marinated and grilled chicken thighs, roasted squash, roasted peppers, rice, and salad, with a peach and blueberry cobbler (with vanilla ice cream) for dessert. I'll be eating leftovers, and pulled pork sandwiches the rest of the week.

I'll be smoking my own loin back ribs which is exactly how I want it. Just like last week when I made beef ribs and an angel food cake for my birthday.
