I agree 100%. I pride myself on finding stuff but this has me stumped.

I think a piece is missing, maybe a mold that fits over that raised square on the bottom part.

Kinda weird shape (square) for a mold. I don't know if there's a design on the bottom of the plunger. I'll ask and get back here.

The closest I've found is a mooncake mold.

The bottom of the plunger is flat (ie no pattern or design).

I thought I had it when I stopped thinking about that being a plunger, a resting weight instead.
My first idea was a picnic napkin holder, but judging size with her hand it seems too small.
