What does a man cook for himself?

So, wife and kids are going away next weekend, while I'm back home to renovate my daughter's room. It is a fairly large job so there isn't a lot of time for cooking, but I think I should use the opportunity to do things on the weber I don't normally do (which in this context probably would have been burger or classic steak)

I want to do something with meat, maybe some beans, and it should be spicy. Any suggestions, what do you grill for yourself?

My favorite is country style ribs, or chicken thighs, Pirate baked beans, and bacon Brussels sprouts. It takes about half hour to prep, and about 2 hours to cook. Everything gets cooked indirect on my Performer at about 350 degrees.

Do a whole chicken, you don't have to baby sit it much and you can get a couple of meals out of it. Sides of a can of BBQ beans and maybe a simple salad.

Debone that bird, stuff it with spicy fried sausage, mushrooms, cheese, sauted garlic and spinach. Set it indirect with a remote read thermometer, put the read out where you can see it every half hour or so and go to work!

Yes that is tempting, but I'm not quite sure yet. Beef is also an alternative even if not doing a classic steak

Tacos.. Beef ,chicken or pork, add some pintos or red beans, and rice and that's a meal fit for a King!

Give me a steak - a big one with a side of sautéed mushrooms and a loaded baked potato. A few months back I was left alone with one of my sons for the weekend. We did a couple of Cornish Game Hens (basted with garlic lemon butter) and baked potatoes on the rotisserie. it was one of the best things I have ever cooked and hardly anyone got to eat it... Enjoy your bachelor weekend Svein...

Regards,

J
