Weber Style Lighter & Products

Digging around in my Q box of tricks, I found this. I don't recall buying it, & I didn't know Weber even made one. Must have been a gift from someone.
The only info I could find is that it was only available from Weber (Germany).

So John, why were these never available in the United States? I think one would be very nice to have for us “kettleheads”!
The European market has always been a bit more adventurous when it comes to their accessories and what they think they can sell. Retailers stateside are much more grill focused since there's a veritable ocean of accessories available. Boils down to something like "Why should we carry and devote shelf space for your $10 lighter and sell 25 of them a year when we can sell 500 Bic lighters for $3 in that same timeframe."

Fair enough but, Gee! Cheap isn’t always cool, in fact it rarely is. There are times when a “higher degree of elegance” is certainly welcome!😉

Most Weber items carry a higher price tag than a lot of competitor products. For a grill we can tend to sell the item more easily since there's a more discernable value. For something like a lighter that's simply a bit nicer looking it can be a harder sell. That said, I completely agree! :)
