Weber Style Lighter & Products

Digging around in my Q box of tricks, I found this. I don't recall buying it, & I didn't know Weber even made one. Must have been a gift from someone.
The only info I could find is that it was only available from Weber (Germany).

Yes it's a refillable. And yes, it still works. It's quite a hefty unit.

The European market has always been a bit more adventurous when it comes to their accessories and what they think they can sell. Retailers stateside are much more grill focused since there's a veritable ocean of accessories available. Boils down to something like "Why should we carry and devote shelf space for your $10 lighter and sell 25 of them a year when we can sell 500 Bic lighters for $3 in that same timeframe."

Fair enough but, Gee! Cheap isn’t always cool, in fact it rarely is. There are times when a “higher degree of elegance” is certainly welcome!

I was gifted a very nice 6-piece steak knife & fork set for Xmas years ago.

They are weighty & feel very comfortable & balanced in hand. I haven't used them much as they are stashed in the special cutlery drawer.

(These were bought from Weber (Germany), where they have some really nice accessories not available anywhere else).

Most Weber items carry a higher price tag than a lot of competitor products. For a grill we can tend to sell the item more easily since there's a more discernable value. For something like a lighter that's simply a bit nicer looking it can be a harder sell. That said, I completely agree!
