Weber redhead in California

Hello from Sacramento, California. For years I have come to this site to read advice for keeping my inherited Weber Redhead Genesis 1000 grilling. I am in the begining process of re-restoring it now and can't wait to get back grilling on it before passing it on to my adult son in the future (this would be it's third generation in our family since the mid 1980's).
I'm handy but work in education as a trade so wish me lots of luck!

We are here to help and taking it one step at a time you should have no problems at all.

Welcome Kelly!
Looks like ya got a we bit of Irish in your blood.
Thank you for the Welcome Timothy. I was Irish and proud for the first 30 years of my life. My father had our DNA researched back in 2010 and it turns out I should be a Stuart not a Clancey. Now, I claim to be both.

Welcome Kelly! I just joined a month ago and the people on this forum have been really nice with lots of comprehensive help. Don't be shy about asking any sort of questions on the threads. Also, I have found the search tool really helpful. Posting photos with questions is always welcome. I just finished my first Weber - a Silver B that I really enjoyed and could not have done it without the help of this group. Enjoy your Genesis 1000 redhead! I think that's my favorite and someday I hope to have one. Here is a good link to start on the forum with restoration, maybe you have already seen it:
