Weber Q 2800N. Flame Red

Just in time for Independence Day
I ordered the grill & premium cart.
The cart is very sturdy metal with a nice solid door (compared to the flimsy plastic front of the 2200 cart)
The cart has clips that are meant to accommodate the 1200 or 2000 series.
It also has nice hooks on the back for charcoal grates.

The side tables detach and easily fit inside cabinet of the cart .
The Q bowl is absent of any branding except for the "Weber" lid thermometer. (Unless there are decals I overlooked.)

I am very happy with the color.

So, the one thing about Q grills was that they were pretty much bullet proof. Adding a sheet steel cart shoots that down. Although, I guess you can toss the cart in 5 years after it starts rusting and get a new one. It is a really nice looking setup however. Great colors.

What would that complete rig including cart and griddle set a guy back?

It wasn't cheap, I got a military discount, but recently learned if you call Weber and order direct you could get 20%off.

Is the metal on the cart steel or aluminum? It is very sharp. Aluminum would be a lot better, but if steel then just treat it with love.

It looks like it already getting that! :smilekettle:

Well, temptation was just too much so I called up Weber today to see about a discount. The rep said 10%. Couldn’t get him to go any more. Is it just luck of the draw? Maybe I’ll try again tomorrow.

Even though I've barely used my Q1000 after a few years (unused) in storage, the 2800N has really caught my eye. However, I recently added new grates and flavorizer bars to my old Silver B and can't justify the new Q. I offered my Q1000 to my son but he didn't think he could use it at his apartment or store it (lives on the ground floor with no storage unit).

Well, when one window closes, another opens.
I called Weber again and got shut down. They would only give me $50 off. Didn’t even offer 10%. So I said forget it. I’m not spending $400+ on a grill.

An hour later, I happen to be browsing the local classifieds. Some guy was selling a brand new Q2800n for $250! He bought it a few months ago but never took it out of the box. Then decided to get a Genesis instead. Lucky me. 😁

Wahoo!

Beauty, Chad. Love that set-up.

This is such a nice setup! Been looking to upgrade my Baby Q. I really like the center burner on this model. What light is that attached to the handle?

I did a pizza in the 2800 for dinner. 15x12 stone.
The first one, I had the middle burner dialed down but noticed the center of the pizza wasn’t getting done. So I cranked it up all the way. It worked really well. I was testing to see how well this would work for camping or family picnics. It did great.

Thank you for sharing!
I just passed up a black one on the used market and I'm kicking myself.
