Weber Parts Deals

The direct store flavor bars are quite underwhelming in relation to the Qulimetal and Votenli bars.

That being said, at $42 not on sale with burners, I would think for flipper grills they would work just fine. But as Bruce has mentioned being able to say in a listing that the parts are of high quality, heavy, 7mm or 16 gauge, etc. is helpful (at least I think).

I have a set of NIB Weber burners I will dig out and I’m going to compare them (and the Quilimetal) ones to. Not that used ones wouldn’t work but I don’t want to get my hands dirty 🤣

I imagine you have quite a few used burner tubes lying around at this point. Cleaning them up and reusing the Weber ones are always my first choice when possible, same with stainless steel grates. I'll give you that old flavorizer bars don't usually cut it on a flip, but I don't like to eat into my profits too much. I've also as an experiment asked customers if they would prefer the Weber grates that I clean up or a new aftermarket set and I haven't had any takers on the aftermarket ones yet. I'll bet if I did the same with burner tubes I would get the same response most of the time.

I would be more interested if the flat side was the cooking side. With the placement of the support bars, I don’t think these were intended to be reversible, but you could still probably do that and grill around that middle bar. So, still tempting to add it to my stainless grate showdown.

I was really impressed with the CAST STAINLESS Napoleon grate we saw on our KC trip. The best of both worlds of cast iron thick mass and stainless non-rusting durability.

I'm the complete opposite --- I prefer the 'sharp side' up on my grates.... I'm not sure why exactly, but I just hate having the flat side up on my CIs. To each their own....

Here comes as scientific review as I can do. Not that I’ll be pulling the Votenli burners out to do this. (There may be another set on its way if it’s still on sale) 😃

But I’m going to weigh the burners & bars of Qulimetal & Direct store. Vs. NIB Weber burners and just the Votenli Bars. Burners will be weighed with the crossover tube.

Direct Store:
Burners - 1lb 14.4 oz
Bars - 3lb 15.3 oz

Qulimetal:
Burners - 1lb 15.7 oz
Bars - 8lb 3.4 oz 😳

Votenli :
Bars Only - 8lbs 9.5 oz 😳😳

Weber:
Burners Only - didn’t realize the kit came without a crossover tube! I bought it cheap but ***?
2lb 2.2 oz (2lb 2.41oz w/ used crossover tube)

I’m impressed by the Qulimetal stuff. But clearly the Votenli is still just a bit more beefy (and without the extra ounce(s) of plastic.

Curious what’s your process for cleaning the used Silver B tubes. Do you flush them out with water somehow as well?

So thumbs up on direct store burner tubes, but thumbs down on their flavorizer bars based on the huge weight discrepancy vs. the Votenli or quilimetal offerings.
It’s funny because I could feel the difference of the boxes. I thought a couple pounds different. But wow. I think for a flip grill, they’d be sufficient. But if you can get the Votenli on sale for the burners and bars under $40… easy choice.

I’ll be waiting for the Votenli stuff to arrive to check their fit versus the direct store burners, before I return the DS set.

I am still shocked that the Weber burners didn't include a X-over tube.
I was too. But then I noticed it isn't the common part number 3608. It is 3609 and it was still sealed with the bubbles in tact so it isn't like someone couldve gotten it out. It did however come with the SS bolts, nuts and washers. Those are going on my platinum concoction whenever I get to it, so I will just bite the bullet and order a Weber crossover tube.
