Weber JAJ Marinade Pork Steaks

R.I.P. 3/31/2022
I found some Weber's new "Just Add Juice" marinades on sale, two for a dollar, so I bought two of the Original styles.
Added a 1/2 cup of apple juice to the mix.

Marinated 2 large, but thin pork steaks for 3 hrs., and decided to marinate myself a bit.
(Funny thing, I send Jim Lampe a few of bottles of Maull's bbq sauce, and some hickory chunks, then a couple of days later my box is returned with a bottle of KC! I'm sending a case of Maull's and a hickory log next time!!

Kinda funky color on the steaks, eh?
(cherry wood for smoke)

After 1 hour the steaks were foiled with a bit of apple juice.
On went the skillet of red potatoes, bacon wrapped brussel sprouts, then later on some corn.

Spuds went into a warm oven.

While the pork steaks got a little direct heat, then indirect with Bandana's bbq sauce.
(total cook time a bit over 2 hours)

Mayo, asiago cheese, and Penzey's 4S salt on the corn. Ranch dressing and chives on the potatoes.

Everything was very good, and up to expectations, 'cept the sprouts were a little bitter.

As far as the Weber JAJ, it didn't seem to make much of a difference.
I'll try the other packet on a more blank canvas, like chicken breasts.

Thanks for stopping by, hope everyone had a great weekend!

A big thanks to Jim for the KC, I owe you one!!

I don't know what Maull's is, but I'm gonna find some and send it to JL.

Wonderful meal, Bob.

Prost! buddy!!

You got my taste buds FLOWING!
Bob,what temps.were you running on those ps?
From Jim's 2" steaks taking 4hrs. and your 1" steaks taking 2hrs,that would be about right.
I know I know,it ain't done until it's done! but it gives us a ball park idea.
Thanks for sharing Bob.
Chuck.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone!

Chuck,
Sorry, I didn't pay much attention to the temps.
I started with about a half chimney of fresh K, and dumped it on a few dead leftover coals.
Best guess would be about 325>350 at the hood.

Everything looks great Bob even the corn!!

That is almost a Jim Lampe plate, but I can still see a little bit of the plate
