They are confusing everyone think they changed some model numbers and I think they call the small one and the large one RapidFire the new one and I bought one is the large one which is 7429. I had the smaller one which I use 90 percent of the time but there are occasions on the performer when I don't use the baskets to cook a bunch of burgers so I need a full chimney. My guess is the ones you see for 20 dollars are the smaller version.
I bought my 7429 which I believe is the latest version from Weber June 15th from Amazon it was $23.20 now it shows up at the $27,84 like your post says maybe got lucky as you know Amazon sometimes has a one day sale or whatever. If that is what you need I would save it to orders then check every day for a price drop. Now I have the Amazon Chase Card so its totally possible cause I use that they discounted it, if you buy alot of stuff from Amazon it is well worth getting that card they gave me $150 when I signed up for it I am a Prime Member. No annual fee by the way. Also not pumping the card burned that $150 in 2 weeks between the wife and daughters.
Edit: To make it more confusing the 7416 which has slightly different dimensions from the 7429, it appears Home Depotis selling the 7416 the model number is answered in the questions for the $20.99 is not the smaller version which is only 15 bucks its actually the 7416.

There's two models. Big/regular and small/compact.

Something seems to be up with that. I wonder if it's why some people's chimneys don't last that long. I've had mine for years, maybe 7 or 8. Other people burn through one in a year. They probably just grill more than I do.
