Water in the bottom of the unit?

Fired up my new WMS yesterday.

After about two hours of 'test' cooking, noticed that there was quite a bit of water in the bottom of the unit, below the charcoal.

Is this normal?

Nope, Not rain - Was about 90 the day of the test.
I was thinking that condensation from the hot water/steam hitting the colder side of the unit was the cause.

You bought the wrong smoker. Yes, in a WMS it is normal. Return it and buy a WSM.

Did you Foil and fill the water pan? I saw a video that stated if
you foiled improperly the water would migrate up and over the
top edge of the pan and drip through the coals. I think it was on
You Tube, but not sure.

That happened to me the first few times I would foil my pan and used water.

Ah ha! I haven't used water in a while now and forgot about that.

I've heard that as well, if you foil the pan improperly it will drip down off the edge of the foil as it steams away. Stop using water and those problems will disappear.
