WAL-MART Beef....

Those are pretty decent looking RE's, Steve - as good, if not better, than my local supermarkets (Harris Teeter, Safeway, Wegmans). Mind sharing what the price per LB was?

I don't remember the exact price, but it was around $9-$10 per pound. They weren't super thick, but decent, 3/4"-7/8" thick. I've never seen steaks that marbled at Walmart before. Again, most ribeyes I see at Walmart are cut from near the chuck end, not the middle, but they're still good. Here's what they looked like with a good scald....

My area has nothing like that for sale. All that Wal-Marts around here offer is cuts with fat all along the outside and very little intramuscular fat. I wish i could get ahold of that kind of cut though, Whole Foods charges $20/lb for such good looking cuts although their's is labeled as organic grass fed, but I don't really care about that so much unless it's ground meat.
