In a recent thread about popping popcorn the discussion turned to the older model electric poppers.
Len showed us his, and here's one I just bought on eBay for $25 with shipping.
It's a Munsey, made in Little Rock, Arkansas in the early to mid 1970's.
Research finds it sold for about $5 back then.
It was new old stock, still sealed in the box, and it felt like I was opening a time capsule.
Not high quality, we'll see how well it pops and holds up over time.

The bowl part is removable and sits on a solid ring coil in the base.

Here you go guys, first my thoughts.
It did fine, took longer than our Nordic Ware microwave popper.
Taste was good, less old maids too, but not as tender as the Nordic.
I was seeing steam come out around the lid and think if I cock it just a bit to release it that might help.
This is based on an old whirley pop manual stir popper that made the popcorn a bit tough if the flip lid wasn't up a hair.

The instructions called for 6 TBS oil, and 2/3 cup corn.
Seemed like a lot, I didn't measure, but did use less oil, still seemed like a lot.
