Using Top and Bottom Rack

When I smoke pork shoulder I usually do two shoulders and place them on the top rack.

I need to do four.

Will adding two more shoulders to the bottom rack add to the cooking time?

Thanks

Not enough to notice.

If time is an issue, you as the pitmaster have tools you can put to use as needed. Increased cooking temperature is one. Foiling is another. Use as needed.

Not really, you might notice a tad longer time to come back up to temp after putting double the amount of cold meat into it, but cooking will be the same. The real questions is if you put butt on the bottom, where ya going to put the beans? :D

Yes. It will add time and use more charcoal. That's why there is a side door. Add unlit coals as needed. Don't wait for the temp to drop below 200 before adding more coals.
