Did this cook a few nights ago. Decided on a turkey breast for dinner. Baked up a couple of sweet potatoes too. We've had a couple of artichokes in the fridge we just never used up so I rescued them. Not the ideal side for turkey but they tasted good.
Made a herb-citrus butter for the turkey. A little salt and pepper also.
Some sage, rosemary and thyme. That should be a song.....
sorry!
Chopped and combined with a stick of butter. Divided so I'd have some for basting.
Didn't allow butter enough time to soften and spread properly. Should have nuked it but decided to dab it on and let it melt down sides.
Used small WSM for this cook. Very windy today.
About an hour.
With about an hour to go put the potatoes and artichokes on.
Plated it up.
This turkey was delicious. Cooked to 165, it was moist and tender. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the color. Recipe called to baste frequently and consequently didn't maintain good kettle temps. Should have done it on the Performer. Anyway, thanks for looking.
