Travel mugs

I have Contigo but one HUGE flaw with them. The channel your beverage flows through is impossible to clean no matter how hard you try and they get pretty disgusting after awhile
We have a couple of Contigo travel mugs. On ours, the valve assembly is on an axle, and can be pivoted down from the lid to clean. The first time my g/f saw one of these for sale, the valve had been flipped down, she thought it was broken, and took it up to the cashier. "Oh, no, it's fine. <flip>"

Now totally confused.

There's a mechanism that allows the valve assembly to be rotated down from the underside of the lid for cleaning. I'll see if I can take a couple of pics over lunch.
Okay.... this is for the cap on a Contigo Autoseal travel mug.

1: Whole mug
2) underside of lid, operating position
3) underside of lid, half toggled open
4) underside of lid, fully toggled open for cleaning.

When the gizmo is fully toggled open, everything seems to be available for cleaning. These are several years old, no replacement parts. Granted, not much use in the last couple of years.

Now totally confused.

Contigo has a couple of different designs. The autoseal west loop model that I linked above seems to clean well, and not get gunked up.

I had some earlier models that had some hidden areas that were disgusting.

I'm not going to be of much help with recommendations. I use a Contigo Travel Mug which is steel, and has the seals that fail after a few months. Although the one I'm currently using, the seal is going strong for the last 9 months or so.

I'm going to check my Contigo AutoSeal for the 'pivot' function. I quit using it because of the cleaning issues.

Go big or go home:

Zojirushi makes all sorts of mugs, containers, and kitchen electronics - known for rice cookers - and all are great.

My favorite is my little thermos 16 oz vacuum tumbler. I've actually got two one at home and one in my office. Drawbacks, the bottom gets dinged up easy so it doesn't sit as flattened stable as you'd like. The bottoms also narrowr so it's fairly easy to accidentally knock over. But on the plus side it fits in the car cup holders well. And it keeps coffee hot for hours. It's nice to drink from, a lot nicer than other ones I have. Including a big expensive yeti my daughter gave me that won't even fit in the cup holder in my truck. I've been using these for about 5 years I'd say. They got them at Walmart usually. Anything that's not vacuum insulated is not worth the trouble... And that means it's going to be stainless steel body. Coffee just gets cold too fast in anything else. In this it's drinkable for 4 to 5 hours it's still warm

By way of follow-up. I've gone with trying six of these along with these neoprene insulator sleeves.
Starbucks Reusable Cups Recyclable Grande 16 OZ Plastic Travel To Go Coffee Cups (6pcs) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H829X54/?tag=tvwb-20

Beautyflier 8pcs Anti-Slip Neoprene 2.5mm Thick Collapsible Heat Resistant Coffee Cup Insulated Sleeve for Coffee/Tea/Cold Drinks (Plant Pattern) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08X4H82YT/?tag=tvwb-20

So far, so good. The sleeves are more to protect your hand from the heat that transfers through as the Cups are not insulated. But with the lid snapped in place, the sleeve does a decent job of keeping things hot.
So far, an effective replacement for the throwaway restaurant paper ones.
