Thunder tip

We've been having thunder storms the last couple days. It really let loose yesterday afternoon. Sideways rain and wind.

Cash and Carry has peeled tri tip and spares on sale so I picked up a pack of each. I vac packed five tri tip roasts. Saved one out for this cook. Vac packed and froze two racks of spares. The third rack I seasoned and vac packed and into the fridge. I 'll cook it this weekend.

Here's the players in the marinade:

Going for a spin in the vacuum tumbler, then a rest on the counter.

While the tri tip was spinning I seasoned up the rack of ribs. Adobo and garlic.

I also cut off the back flap on the robs. It will go on the Mini with the tri tip.

Sorry no cook photos. The rain was relentless. Thankfully the mini loves it!

Ready for the wrap and 30 minute nap.

Sorry no plated pics. I grabbed a small bowl of wasabi horseradish for dipping and ate right off the cutting board!

Case, I guess if you ate off the cutting board, then that was your plated pic! :) Looks great from here......

Great looking Tri Tip Case. Ribs look excellent too. I'm sure they will be a hit over the weekend. Glad you're still getting rain up there. We're sitting at a little over 37 inches for the season, which is decent. Astronomical compared to the last three years.

now that's a tri tip...

Thank you!

Thank you Cliff, I am looking forward to the ribs. I'm the only one in the house this weekend that eats them so that rack is all mine!

I think that rain is headed this way. I'll trade it for this D**n wind were having 40+ with gusts as high as 50.

That TT is perfect Case, ribs look great too. It's funny about your comment on the Mini. Was doing a pork butt last summer in the monsoons, it started pouring on the little Mini and it rained steady and hard for about two hours. Watched the temps on the Maverick in the house, never budged sat there at 275 as steady as a rock.

Great looking cook Case....We must of got your thunder - lighting - rain out hear last nite...Boy we got it all last nite rain came down in truck loads lots of flooding and high wind's.

Case that cook is awesome and I like you man plate. Some times that's the best way. Stay dry my friend, but send some of that rain our way we can use it.

Case, nice job. I think your tri tip looks terrific! When you fire up the ribs, make sure to post picks of thoes too!
