Thermoworks Smoke on Sale...great price $50

I have never seen this low of a sale price on the Smoke. If you want to do remote therm cooking, this is the go to for most of the serious BBQ guys. I have a feeling they will be selling quite a few at this price. $50

Wish they would put the one with WIFI/Bluetooth on sale that drastically. I would be in then. Though for $50 I may just jump on this thing. I bought the ThermoPro version of it and it was just plain awful. I gave it away. I am sure this one HAS to be better.

I see in the literature, it has one probe for pit temp and one for meat. Can they both be used as meat probes?

I like the dedicated remote vs having yet another app on my phone.

That said the graphing features of the signals is really cool.

A minor complaint of the smoke or smoke X4 is I cannot adjust temp from the remote.

The smoke X4 also takes a lot of button pushing to change temps on all the probes.

The smoke remote works everywhere in my house.

The smoke X4 long range remote works across the street a couple houses away.

Yah, its a quality product. However, I am finding the ease of the Thermopro Spike wireless to be quite convenient. It eliminates the wires so not only is it a lot more convenient, but it can be used on the rotisserie. I have yet to have problems with connectivity either.

I just realized that it has been a while since I used either. I need to rectify that soon.

Since how badly that first ThermoPro remote unit was I was pretty leery of this more advanced tech from them. Which is why, I saw this and jumped on it

Larry, I have a THermopro 4 probe remote that I got for a great price. I used it one time and it seemed to work quite well, but 4 wires is just too busy for me and learning another tech item is not appealing either. The Smoke is just a simple, effective and dependable unit that suits me well. The Spike has its merits as well. I use and will continue to use both.

Yeah that 4 probe was the one I bought. I was just so totally disappointed. Which was weird given how much I like their instant read thermometers. Used them today to confirm the probes on the pellet grill. Which on that note I have to give kudos to just how accurate the probes and temp readouts are on not only the Member's Mark but the Z as well. My instant reads are never more than a couple degrees different give or take. And that is close enough for me.
Maybe the Spike is a better product IDK. In any case I will look forward to getting this one
