Those probe spools are must haves. They make storage a snap and because they’re magnetic, they stack and remain stacked easily. And you can unspool the cable with ease every time.

I needed a new probe for my Dot.
Bought the 4 pack of spools and the XL case also. That should be a upgrade from zip loc bags :)

the probe does not lay flat, but does stick out from the spool once wound. i keep my spools stacked, via the magnets, and keep them in a kitchen cabinet with my Signals, which is in an Amazon case. i just take out the 4 spools when i am using them (or fewer) and then clean and rewrap them when done.

I kinked mine when I wound it up a few times. This should do the trick.
 
Just ordered the XL case, a spare grate probe and probe spool. Already have spools for my other temp probes.
 
Rapala knife is for trimming fat, etc. I have two other Rapala fillet knives for cleaning fish, 4” and 6”. Also have 2 electric fillet knives in case I fill a bucket when ice fishing. :)
 
I have two or three of them. One is probably 40 years old. Had it since I was a teenager...so maybe 50 years old. They still make them the same as back then. Like you, they get more use in the kitchen than on the filet board.
