Well, thanks to all the great photos and cooks on here I have been really getting back into cooking since I got the WSM.
Today is football day and the Jags (2 and 11, now 2 and 12) were playing Miami. I wanted to do something I had never made before. I decided to make some baby backs, which I have done before, and a blooming onion which I never had.
First I had to get some new plates since everyone's on here look so good and all I had was flowered ones leftover from d'vorce. Got them the other day....
Then I figured I would use the second 18.5 WSM I picked up on CL. It needed to be used and seasoned so I figured the slightly higher heat ribs would be good to try. Temps held good....
Then prepared the onion. While the ribs were resting, into the oil it went
Pulled it out and it wasnt pretty, but the color was good...
Made some dipping sauce and got a cold beer
Here it is plated and ready to eat.
The ribs were not burnt as they look in the picture. They were actually the second best ones I ever made. Thanks to all the help on here I think I have actually gotten the hang of the WSM.
