The Amazing World of Gaaaaalic

I wanted to try something a little different with the potatoes tonight, so I sliced yellow potatoes almost all
the way through and put in a CI pan. I then added about 4 tablespoons of garlic butter in the center of the potatoes.
The potatoes were then topped off with some red onion. Seasoned with S/P and then put onto the performer.

About 50 minutes into the cook I added 2 ears of corn that were coated with olive oil and stirred the potato mixture.

The 2 large chuck eye steaks were marinated with Grill Mates Peppercorn and Garlic mix.

Added some mushrooms to the potatoes and onions.

Pulled the corn, added Parmesan cheese to the potatoes and put the steaks on direct.

Cheese all melted and the potatoes are done.

Steak flipped.

Both are done at internal temperature of 130.

Plated with some more garlic butter added to the corn and steak.

This was a very gaaaaalicky meal tonight! Steak and potatoes were out of this world. Corn was a little bit
overcooked, so next time will pull it about 5 minutes earlier. Overall, very delicious and we both are stuffed!

Thanks for looking!

Mike, the chuck eyes look perfect, even if the corn was over cooked, I can't tell from the pics. Lovin' the tater mix you got going on in that cast iron pan.

And, as usual, your pics are fantastic! Thanks for sharing this and all your cooks.

Incredibly good stuff Mike. Well done! Lately with all the gaaaalic and she-cone going on, I think I detect a Lampese dialect being adopted here on the forum. Oh well -- it's true! We all want to be Jim. ;)

bs Gary, you'd all be BORING! ;)
Mike, your CE's look AWESOME and the skillet of WONDERNESS looks absolutely FABULOUS!
and ya'know, the very best thing about the use of gaaaaalic, not only is it GREAT for your heart, butt those around you TRULY do L♥VE you!

Great Lookin' Cookin' Mike!!!

Wow, great chucks, taters and corn Mike! With all that gaaaaaaalic you probably won't have to worry about vampires for a few days :p

Great cook. Only thing that might improve it would be some bacon in those taters. If your going to cook yourself a heart attack you might as well go all the way :)

Thanks everyone for your kind comments! :) Lampese? Would be an honor and I don't believe for a minute Jim that it would be boring! ;) Nope Mark no worry about vampires last night! :D Bob S I thought about adding bacon to the potatoes but passed on them this time. Will do it next time and am not worried about a heart attack, too darn ornery and too old too worry about the small things. ;)
