Thanks to all!

5 years ago I started slow cooking on a gas grill. A few months back I started feeling guilty for doing so and started looking at Big Green Eggs, then I stumbled onto this site. (I have been using a Weber Kettle for regular grilling for 4 years.)

After pouring though the various threads I invested in an 18.5 inch WSM. Fired it up for the first time yesterday and put out some pretty tasty spare ribs.
I am very happy with my investment and would like to say thanks to everyone for contributing to such a valuable resource!

Welcome to the forum Mike and congrats on that great smoker. I've had mine for about three years and wish I had done it years earlier. This site has made all the difference. It is a great place to hang out and you will learn a lot.

Welcome. Several years ago, I had a similar experience. I had bought an off brand smoker and stumbled onto this site after searching for some help. Well, this site was so helpful, I went and bought a WSM so that my equipment matched the instructions. It was a great decision and this site has been a valuable asset. I hope you find it to be as well.

Congratulations on your new WSM and your successful first cook on it.

Welcome to the Forum, Mike! We are happy to have you here. This is a tremendous resource and is responsible for my advancement as a BBQ cook (about twice as fast as I would have on my own).

Keep on smokin',
