Temp difference between top and bottom grates.

I've had a 18.5 for 3 yrs now and only have had to use the top grate for my cooks, this weekend I'm gonna need the bottom, anyone have rough idea of the temp difference between top and bottom grates? thanks.

I usually do 4 butts at a time, and used to get pretty frantic about the differences in temp between the racks. However, after actually tracking it, I found the difference isn't all that much. In my case, I don't use water so I think that has something to do with it. Logically, with the water right below the lower rack, that very likely could sap some temps vs a foiled saucer. Without water, I find the lower rack within a few degrees of the top, so the only thing I do now is put the slightly smaller butts on the bottom. No biggie.
