Teaching my bro some grilling...

My younger brother has taken an interest in learning more about grilling, and needless to say I was more than delighted to pass on my knowledge. With his girlfriend being vegetarian, I walked him through grilling summer squash and bell peppers. As an experiment, we tried grilling some jerk tofu as well. On to the photos...

That's my bro learning to create grill marks...

Here he's getting some nice char on the peppers...

Action shot of the grilled tofu, which was marinated in Walkerswood jerk paste...

The tofu came out quite tasty. Jerk paste is a great way to add big flavor to an otherwise bland food...

In addition to all the grilled vegetarian offerings, I did make some clearly non-vegetarian options for the boys. These are lamb shoulder chops with some West Indies style barbeque seasoning...

And finally, a plated shot of the lamb served with grilled vegetables and saffron rice...

Overall, a very enjoyable afternoon of "bro grilling". Thanks for stopping by!

Looks great. Do you have to press the tofu or just grill it and eat it?

Thanks Cody! I did press the tofu (the extra firm variety) to get some of the moisture out before applying the jerk paste. I don't think it would have browned as nicely as it did if I hadn't pressed it.

Jerome the plate looks superb my friend, I do the Tofu and veggies about once a month. Have not tried the Walkers on it but that will be next. Well done bud

Hey Jerome, looks fantastic. My wife is a vegetarian for the most part and I have cooked a lot a lot a lot of tofu. yours looks pretty good. did you press it first?
