Summit Kamado

If you could get a Summit Kamado in a color other than black, what would you prefer?

Just doing my share to speed this process along. I imagine the band below the lid would need to remain black as well but couldn't quite explain it to our overlords. The black is no longer necessary, pick a color and let it define the WSK.

Nice job with the renders! And yea, the support ring would probably need to remain black because it's painted versus porcelain enameled. Getting a color match between painted and porcelain enameled parts can be a real nightmare. That's not to say it isn't possible, but it can be a real QA headache.

We're always talking about new ideas here at Weber HQ, and the Summit Kamado is ripe with opportunities as it's what I consider to be our best grill period.
I would like to see swing up side tables as an accessory for the E6. I have them on my large BGE. I can fold them down and put a cover over them when it is rainy or fold them up to hold food or thermometers etc. One consideration might be the "tip-factor" given leverage of the side shelves.

don't want to hijack the thread ( I voted for blue) but please bring out some accessories for this grill. I agree it's the best grill weber makes, and best Kamado on the market. I would love to see a multi layer grate system similar to the eggspander. I currently use the bottom grate to cook on and use a half moon grate on the top section for a second zone. a griddle insert, rotisserie, charcoal basket for easy level changes, etc. the grill is hands down the best i'v used. and the one grill I would never get rid of.

I cast my vote for Ivory but I gotta believe the Deep Ocean Blue is the way to go to appeal to a larger market as a whole. I agree with the sentiment that some of the colors read too much like an attempt to mirror a BGE when separation is probably a better market strategy.

buy a 2nd charcoal grate and use hot gloves to move CBs from lower to upper charcola grates and never remove the bottom position grate.

You can already by an additional top grate that sits atop the cooking grate to expand your square inches for cooks.

roto would be nice to have, for sure.

you can use a lodge CI griddle if you want to cook on a flattop, or just buy A36 steel 14x16 and use that as a flat top for smash burgers and such. such a piece of steel will run around $60. add a Weber logo'd one and you'll pay $99-$149+. local metal shop can fab this for you.

my biggest concern for the WSK is the welds quality of the cooking grate. with coal on the upper coal deck, i've already destoyed one center grate which was replaced under warranty. i think the direct heat from the charcoal broke those grate welds prematurely.

I'm surprised to hear that about your cooking grate Brett. I probably wouldn't know if mine cracked since it's caked up with grease:p.
In looking at all your cooks, you probably cook center profile more that I do. I typical use my SNS and I rotate the cooking grate a fair amount. Of course, I may not cook as much as you do either.

Hey Brett, thanks for the reply I already have 2 charcoal grates and a kick ash basket with the divider. I love the basket because of the handles and the sides keep the charcoal in place. I'm aware there are other accessories that work with the Kamado I use a Kamado Joe griddle insert.

I just feel weber is missing out with not having any for it other then a cover and small raised grate. I mean they don't even market the grill at all.
It's in my opinion the best grill they have and their is no marketing or support for it. their flat tops have a ton of accessories.

I really enjoy using the half moon grates because of the versatility and having 2 different surfaces. weber has their craft inserts but I never found them very useful considering it sits in the middle of the grill.

I'm surprised to hear about the weld issues you have had mine are very solid and the grate seems pretty heavy duty. hope you have luck with the replacement.

I added a picture of my set up most of the time.
